Caprock Canyon Trip
This morning we all slept in and laid in bed until about 8:30 and it was so nice. Kyle had the day off so we thought it would be fun to take a little day trip somewhere close. I have been wanting to visit the Caprock Canyon since this summer, but this summer was too hot to hike the trails. The weather today was perfect, so we got ready, loaded up and headed out by 10:30. It was about an hour drive and we picked up lunch on the way. When we pulled into the park, we were greeted by a statuesque buffalo. Then we drove closer to it and it moved! We all started laughing because we thought it was fake. As we looked to our left we saw herds of buffalo just walking around like they were pets. We drove with the windows down and the radio off. We stopped to walk on some trails and I hopped out every so often to climb up a cliff to take photos of the beautiful canyons. It was a day much needed. We put our phones away and just took in the great out doors. We also played at the park and threw rocks out on the lake. Joseph had a great time hiking and climbing. Hopefully we can take him camping out there this spring/summer before it gets too hot. If you are in the area and have never been out to Caprock Canyon, I recommend you take a family day trip out there and enjoy yourself.

Family Day :)
Today kyle took the afternoon off so we spent time as a family. We pulled all of our new board games and played them all! Lets just say teaching a child how to lose gracefully is hard.
Then we headed to the park to watch Joseph ride his new bike. It was so much fun playing at the park and just being together. It has been over a month since I picked up my camera and I just needed to shoot something. Enjoy the photos of our family day.Hope you all have a restful weekend....

Holiday Cheer....
This month I have been a busy bee trying to get our house decorated for Christmas. This year we are staying home and welcoming some friends over for Christmas dinner. I have been moving stuff around this week and making new decor. So far I have only purchased one new item for this holiday season. Everything is either homemade or from the past 2 years. Here are a few images of our house decorated for Christmas. (not much, but I love its simple charm)
This will also be our first year having Santa bring gifts. Joseph is
really excited about Santa and we love seeing his face light up when he
talks about him. We also started the Elf on The Shelf with Joseph this
year. We have all really enjoyed our elf Max.
